– What sort of occasions do families and friends like to celebrate?
Well, I would say that people are most likely to celebrate their birthdays with their families and friends. People can also celebrate when they achieve something that they are proud of. For example, I had a small party after I won the badminton tournament in my university. Apart from those reasons, I guess people do celebrate in special occasions such as the new year.
– How important are celebrations in people’s lives?
I believe it is very necessary for people to have celebrations sometimes. Firstly, it is fun to celebrate something with your friends and families and reduce the stress you might get from your work. The second reason is because celebrations are a great chance for people to meet their friends and gather together. For example, I and my friends have very little free time, and we can only see each other when we have celebrations.
– Why do many people enjoy participating in national celebrations?
I think participating in national celebrations is a great way for people to show their patriotism, to show how much they love their country. It’s a good thing that all citizens in the same nation all celebrate something together, and I believe it will help to improve the strength of the whole country. For example, in my country, which is Vietnam, every year we celebrate the National Independence Day on the 2nd of September.
– Have national celebrations become more or less important over time?
In my opinion, national celebrations are becoming less important nowadays. The reason is because young people today have too many occasions to celebrate, and national celebrations do not seem to be as important to people as they used to be. For example, in my home country, young people seem to be more interested in celebrating Valentine’s Day or Christmas Day.
